Details of Rs1.1 trillion Karachi transformation plan released
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Details of the Rs 1113 billion transformation package announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan for Karachi have been released by the Prime Minister House.
Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday announced the package of around Rs 1100 billion to solve the problems facing Karachi, both federal and Sindh government will cooperate in this regard.
After chairing a meeting on special measures for Karachi on his visit to the city, the Prime Minister held a news conference with Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
According to details released by the Prime Minister’s House, Rs 1,113 billion has been released for the Karachi Transformation Plan, of which Rs 92 billion are allocated for water supply projects in the city.
Moreover, Rs 141 billion will be spent on sewage treatment, Rs 267 billion has been allocated for solid waste management and drainage while Rs 41 billion will be spent on restoration and construction of roads.
Another Rs 572 billion has been allocated for Karachi’s mass transit, rail and road transport system.
