PML-N to turn Karachi into Paris, if given a chance: Shahbaz

PML-N president said that Nawaz Sharif will definitely return with permission of his doctors.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday vowed to turn Karachi into Paris if the PML-N came into power in the next general elections, Dunya News reported.
Speaking at a dinner hosted in his honour by renowned businessman Mirza Ishtiaq Baig, the PML-N president said that nations are not built by mere words and slogans.
Shahbaz Sharif said that there is no doubt in my mind in saying that the development projects were completed very fast during PML-N tenure. He said that the PML-N would turn Karachi into Paris of Asia within two to three years if given a chance.
Regarding the return of former prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif to Pakistan, the Leader of the Opposition said that he is currently under treatment in London and will definitely return with permission of his doctors.
Shahbaz Sharif once again vehemently denied allegations of corruption leveled against the party leadership. Other PML-N leaders including Ahsan Iqbal and Marriyum Aurangzeb also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier in the day, PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif reached Karachi on a day-long visit to express solidarity with the victims of rain-hit areas. According to details, the PML-N leader met people living in Malir and heard their problems.
On his arrival in the city, the PML-N leader advised the political parties to not do politics on Karachi’s devastated situation after torrential rains. Federal government should tell about the funds allocated for the Sindh province, he asked.
Shahbaz Sharif also held an important meeting with former President Asif Ali Zardari. On his arrival at Bilawal House, Asif Ali Zardari himself received Mian Shehbaz Sharif and the accompanying League delegation. An important meeting was held between the two leaders in which the political and economic situation of the country was discussed.
Later, the media was briefed about the meeting between the PPP and the PML-N leadership.
Naveed Qamar said that Shahbaz Sharif came to Karachi to express solidarity with the people of Karachi after devastating monsoon rains. He said that we are grateful for his support at this time.
He said that this is not the time for political points scoring. The Prime Minister should have taken the step of bringing everyone together.
Talking on the occasion, PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal said that we are grateful to the leadership of PPP. We have come to Karachi to show solidarity.
He demanded that the federal government should announce a serious aid package in collaboration with the provincial government.
Talking about the political situation in the country, he slammed the government and said that the government has become a torment for the people. Anarchy is being promoted in the country. The opposition will consider all options to send government home, he added.
