Sindh CM visits rain-hit areas in Karachi, directs to speed up rescue operation

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Chief Minister of Sindh (CM) Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday has visited different rain-hit areas in Karachi and directed to speed up water drainage system.
During the visit, the CM has ordered the Karachi commissioner to help those stranded in their houses in Madina Town, Yar Muhammad Goth, Malir and Sukkur Nullah due to rainwater and provide them with food and other things. Won’t leave the people alone in this time of need, he pledged.
On the other hand, the torrential rains in Sindh including Karachi have inundated low-lying areas, creating trouble for the locals.
The Lath and Thado dams have overflowed in Kirthar regions after heavy rains in Karachi, Pakistan Army teams have reached to help the civilians.

According to ISPR, 70 teams of Pakistan Army and Rangers are assisting the civil administration in relief activities in the affected areas. Rain affected localities also include DHA, Gizri, Kemari, North Karachi, Nazimabad, Saddar, Landhi, Airport, University Road, Faisal Base, Jinnah Terminal, Saadi Town, Quaid-e-Abad, Yousuf Goth, PAF Faisal, PAF Masroor and Gulshan Johar.
