Govt announces to deliver pensions to elderly at doorstep from Sept 1
KHEWRA (Dunya News) - Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari has announced that from September 1 next month, pensions will be delivered to the elderly at home and pensions will come directly to the private bank.
The inauguration ceremony of the office of Employees Old Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) was held in Khewra in the presence of Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari.
Addressing the ceremony, Zulfi Bukhari said that within two years, the pension has been increased to Rs 8,500. He said that PTI government is not like other governments who will forget their promises.
He said that on pension you will get credit card, loan facility. EOBI is being digitized, we have collected Rs30 billion in the last three months.
The Special Assistant said that the EOBI has sent a summary to the Ministry of Law. Everyone who works will be entitled to EOBI, including freelance journalists and women working in the fields. You will be able to register yourself with EOBI.
Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that the Prime Minister s policy includes workers and the poor, we have fulfilled the promises we made in the elections and there is no leader like Imran Khan.
He said that what PTI government has achieved was not achieved in the past 73 years. The heart of the Prime Minister beats with the laborers. Every policy of the Prime Minister includes the welfare of the poor and the laborer class.
