Federal govt has ill intentions for Sindh: Bilawal Zardari
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has accused the federal government of having ill intentions against Sindh, saying that any attempt to take control of Karachi would be unconstitutional.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi on Thursday, he said that if any such unconstitutional act is committed under judicial cover, it will be an attack on the province, much like the death of Zulfiqar Bhutto. He expressed hope that no such unconstitutional step would be taken.
Bilawal said that we are constantly being denied our rights regarding NFC award and this injustice is happening to all provinces. The federal government is doing injustice by not giving it its due.
The PPP chairman said that the government wanted to give itself dictatorial powers under the garb of FATF bills, and claimed that we were asking for NRO. We only improved the bill that could have become a draconian law, he added.
Criticizing the Peshawar BRT project, he said that the Prime Minister has inaugurated an unfinished project. He said that Peshawar High Court had ordered NAB to conduct investigation on alleged kickbacks in BRT project, it is time the stay order is lifted and the facts are revealed to the public.
Talking about the situation of corona virus in Pakistan, Bilawal Bhutto said that the Sindh government had decided to lock down first but Imran Khan was quick to take credit when Bill Gates mentioned Karachi. He said that misconceptions are being spread about coronavirus dying down, as it can bounce back as quickly as it has gone down.
