Tiger Force day: Punjab, KP CMs inaugurate tree plantation drive

The CMs have expressed determination to plant millions of plants today.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar on Sunday has inaugurated tree plantation campaign in the province by planting a sapling on Tiger Force day. According to details, the CM has expressed determination to plant 1.2 million plants across the province.

He said that plants are friends of the environment and tree plantation is need of the hour to have a clean environment. He said that the government is working to provide a neat and clean environment to the forthcoming generations.

Usman Buzdar said that Pakistan is facing the challenge of climate change besides COVID-19 therefore timely steps are needed to provide healthy environment to people.

He said that the provincial government has organized 520 ceremonies in different cities and towns to mark the Tiger Force Day.

He said that Ravi River Front Urban Development Project will be the game changer project for Pakistan. Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has also planted a sapling in Peshawar and pledged to plant two million plants today. 

On the other hand, Prime Minister Imran Khan will also plant a sapling today to launch the biggest tree plantation campaign in the history of country targeting around 3.5 million trees in a day across the country.
