Pakistan sends progress report to FATF
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan has sent an important report to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) regarding progress in implementing the recommendations by FATF.
Director General Financial Monitoring Unit Lubna Farooq has said that the relevant agencies are making joint efforts to achieve the targets.
According to the details, Pakistan informed the Financial Action Task Force of important developments, four major amendments were made to the law on the recommendations of FATF and the United Nations (UN).
Lubna Farooq said that Pakistan has enacted important legislation for FATF and the concerned agencies are making joint efforts to achieve the targets.
Dr. Ramesh Kumar said that the sooner legislation is enacted on the goals of FATF, the better.
The government has implemented 14 of the 27 action points of the FATF while government is also working to achieve the rest 40 targets.
