Chance of rain with thunder in North Punjab, KP and Islamabad
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Rain with strong winds and lightning is expected in Northern Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as well as some districts of Kashmir on Saturday. Meanwhile, heavy rains are also expected in Kalat, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Awaran, Panjgur, Ketch and Gwadar.
During the last 24 hours, thunderstorms occurred in some areas of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Elsewhere, the weather was hot and humid.
Karachi recorded rain of 94mm, Shaheed Benazirabad 47mm, Sakrand 35mm, Hyderabad 14mm, Thatta 12mm, Badin and Chhor 7mm, Kakul 25mm, Khuzdar 17mm, Ormara 6mm, Kalat 3mm and Kot Addu received 2 mm of rain. Yesterday, 47 degree celsius temperature was recorded in Turbat while Sibbi, Shaheed Benazirabad and Dalbandin recorded 47 degree temperature.
The Meteorological Department has warned of urban flooding in Karachi and Hyderabad on Friday and Saturday due to heavy rains, while local streams in Balochistan and Koh Suleman are also at risk of flooding. During this time, sea waves on the coast of Sindh and Makran will remain turbulent which is why fishermen should avoid going to sea.
