Plane crash: PIA announces Rs10 million compensation for legal heirs of PK-8303 victims
KARACHI (Dunya News) - The legal heirs of all the passengers of PIA plane crash will be paid Rs 10 million per passenger in the form of insurance. Earlier, PIA had already paid Rs 1 million per passenger in the category of funeral and burial.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Air Marshal Arshad Malik s talks with the insurance company were successful, before all the legal heirs of the passengers were to be paid Rs5 million, now will be paid Rs10 million.
The increase in the amount of insurance is the result of the personal efforts of PIA chief Air Marshal Arshad Malik who was given special instructions by Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the increased insurance amount is in addition to the amount already paid. Work in this regard has been completed and a succession certificate is now awaited from the legal heirs. Letters are being sent to the heirs in this regard.
