LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid called on Governor Chuadhry Mohammad Sarwar at the Governor House, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
Both leaders conducted detailed discussion over coronavirus situation in the province and were of the opinion that the Punjab government’s steps against the pandemic proved effective.
Dr Yasmin Rashid said COVID-19 cases in Punjab are continuously decreasing. Chaudhry Sarwar warned that the end of lockdown does not mean the epidemic has been eliminated.
Let it be known that Pakistan reported 15 deaths in last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 280,461. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 5,999.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 432 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in 24 hours.
Till now 121,705 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 93,336 in Punjab, 34,253 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,095 in Islamabad, 11,777 in Balochistan, 2,097 in Azad Kashmir and 2,198 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Furthermore 2,153 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 2,226 in Sindh, 1,208 in KP, 136 in Balochistan, 167 in Islamabad, 55 in GB and 54 in Azad Kashmir.
Pakistan has so far conducted 2,031,955 coronavirus tests and 10,690 in last 24 hours. 249,397 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 1,013 patients are in critical condition.
