Opposition not seeking any relief from govt: Shehbaz Sharif

LAHORE (Dunya News) – In a bid to build consensus among opposition parties, the leaders of three major political parties held important meetings in Lahore on Tuesday. Bilawal Bhutto met with both Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Shehbaz Sharif and agreed on standing firm against the government.

According to details, Chairman PPP called on PML-N President in Model Town Lahore late Tuesday following a meeting with the JUI-F Chief. While talking to media after the meeting, Mian Shahbaz Sharif said that never before has the economy been in such a dire state, this government has completely failed, and its continued existence will be dangerous for the country.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the public and opposition are on the same page. After Eid-ul-Azha, meetings between leaders and the APC will bear welcome news for Pakistan, he added.

Earlier, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman who called on Bilawal Zardari said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has put the general public in difficulties, adding that the people were on the same page against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

The PPP chairman also condemned politics on the health condition of Leader of Opposition in National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shahbaz Sharif. It is unfortunate to do politics on someone’s heath, he said.

Bilawal further said that the opposition is on the same page, adding that PM Imran Khan will have to go now. "Any unanimous decision of All Parties Conference (APC) including mid-term election will be implemented," he added.

Speaking on the occasion, JUI-F chief Moulana Fazlur Rehman said that he will bring all the political parties on one page, adding that the opposition’s Rehbar Committee will formulate proposals after Eidul Azha.

“The proposals of the Rehbar Committee will be presented in the All Parties Conference (APC),” he said.

The JUI-F chief went on to say that the people in power have stolen the mandate.
