Restaurants and wedding halls expected to reopen after Eid: Mian Aslam Iqbal
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Provincial Minister for Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal has said that Punjab government is trying to ensure the reopening of restaurants and wedding halls after Eid-ul-Adha.
He expressed these views in Dunya News program "Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Saath". He said that seating capacity in wedding halls and restaurants would be restricted to 50 per cent.
Mian Aslam Iqbal said that he has held meetings with restaurant and wedding hall associations in which consultations were held regarding SOPs. The issue of their reopening will be raised again in the NCOC, he added.
Answering a question, he said that industries in high risk areas are closed down, due to which they are facing difficulties. However, this was done after consultation with all stakeholders in the larger public interest.
He said that all issues are discussed in the NCOC where medical and economic experts are also consulted. We wanted to reopen restaurants on the second day of Eid-ul-Fitr, but other provinces objected to this suggestion, he said.
