International airlines make COVID-19 test mandatory for Pakistan flights

Passengers ought to complete PCR tests within 72 hours of their flight departure

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Several International airlines have said that all passengers from Pakistan are required to show that they were tested for the novel coronavirus within four days.

According to details, airlines including Qatar Airways, Etihad and Emirates have issued a new travel advisory for all passengers from Pakistan who wish to travel abroad.

According to the new advisory, all travelers flying out of Pakistan need to present a negative laboratory-issued COVID-19 test before they can board the plane. Passengers ought to complete the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests within 72 hours of their flight departure. The airlines have also shared a list of approved laboratories in Pakistan on their respective websites.

Earlier, national flag carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) also made it mandatory for all passengers to undergo coronavirus test within 48 hours.

The spokesman of the airline said that all the passengers must present their negative coronavirus test report to the authorities concerned at the time of boarding.
