Pakistan reports lowest number of new COVID-19 cases in over a month

Pakistan has so far conducted 1,606,190 coronavirus tests
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan has confirmed 50 deaths in a single day by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 253,604. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 5,320, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 1,979 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in 24 hours.
Province-wise Details
Sindh has become the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
Till now 106,622 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 87,492 in Punjab, 30,747 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11,192 in Balochistan, 14,202 in Islamabad, 1,694 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 1,655 in Azad Kashmir.
Furthermore 2,026 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 1,826 in Sindh, 1,106 in KP, 126 in Balochistan, 155 in Islamabad, 36 in GB and 45 in Azad Kashmir.
Patients are under treatment at quarantine centers of 462 hospitals where 7,295 beds are available.
Tests and Recoveries
Pakistan has so far conducted 1,606,190 coronavirus tests and 21,020 in last 24 hours. 170,656 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 2,151 patients are in critical condition.
