Inflation out of control in first month of FY

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Inflation has started spiraling out of control even in the first month of the new financial year, leaving the domestic budget of the salaried and middle class in disarray.
After the increase in the prices of petroleum products, the prices of food items including seasonal vegetables and fruits have skyrocketed while the prices of sacrificial animals are also reported to be 40% higher than last year. A share in collective Qurbani has been fixed at Rs. 12,000 to 14,000.
In the open market, high quality ghee is being sold at Rs260, first class basmati rice Rs200, pulses between Rs280 to 150, gram at Rs180, turmeric Rs300 , Sugar Rs85, 200 gram tea leaf packet Rs230 and 20 kg flour bag is being sold at Rs960.
Ginger is available at Rs400, Garlic Rs220, Tomato Rs100, Onion Rs60, Potato Rs70, Lemon Rs150, Cucumber Rs60, Capsicum Rs90.
Chaunsa mangoes are being sold at Rs150, Sundhari mango Rs180, Langra Rs120, Peach Rs180, Pear at Rs 20 and Apricot at Rs250.
