Number of coronavirus critical patients drops by 50pc in Lahore

400 out of 499 high dependency beds in provincial capital's government hospitals are not in use.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The number of critically ill patients of novel coronavirus has dropped by 50 percent in Lahore during last 10 days as intensive care units (ICU) of seven major hospitals are vacant.
According to Punjab Health Department, 110 out of 178 ICU beds and ventilators allotted for coronavirus patients in 16 government hospitals in the city are vacant as the total occupancy rate of ventilators drops to only 38%.
400 out of 499 high dependency beds in provincial capital’s government hospitals are not in use, reducing the total occupancy rate of these beds to 19.8%.
According to the report of the health department, out of 50 ventilators of Mayo Hospital, 39 are not in use while 11 have patients. Out of 227 high dependency beds, 195 are vacant while 32 have patients.
10 out of 20 ventilators of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI) has are in use while 11 beds out of 16 beds of HDU’s are vacant.
Out of 15 ventilators of Jinnah Hospital, 6 are free. On the other hand, only 18 out of 32 ventilators of Services Hospital are being used by patients.
