NAB Multan probes 14,000 kanal land allotment in Cholistan
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, senior PML-N leaders Rana Sanaullah and Baligh-ur-Rehman are being investigated by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Multan for allotment of 14,000 kanals of land in Lal Sunahara national park in Cholistan.
NAB sources said that the Managing Director Cholistan Development Authority had allotted land to 144 persons without checking their credentials as the allottees were not affected by Lal Sunahara national park.
According to sources, an inquiry is underway into the allotment of 14,000 kanals of land in Cholistan. The inquiry also includes the name of former Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif who gave permission for the allotment without the approval of the provincial cabinet at the time.
The questionnaire sent to Shehbaz Sharif has not been answered yet. Shehbaz Sharif was directed by NAB Multan to submit reply by May 18. The questionnaire was sent to Shehbaz Sharif at the address of Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and Model Town Lahore.
According to NAB sources, other names include PML-N leaders Rana Sanaullah and Baligh-ur-Rehman. Rana Sanaullah Khan, as the provincial law minister, approved the summary without sending it to the provincial cabinet and Baligh-ur-Rehman was interrogated as a political adviser to Shehbaz Sharif.
