Int'l airlines spring into action against Pakistani pilots, employees

KARACHI (Dunya News) - International airlines have also started action against Pakistani pilots and employees after the country’s Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan made the startling revelation of 1/3rd of the country’s pilots holding ‘suspected’ fake licenses.

According to details, Kuwait Airways has grounded seven Pakistani pilots and 56 engineers while lists of Pakistani pilots, engineers and ground handling staff in Qatar Airways, Oman Air and Vietnam Air have been prepared. It has been decided to keep the employees named in the list temporarily grounded till the report of the Pakistani authorities is received.

On the other hand, PIA has sent letters to various embassies and international aviation authorities regarding pilot licenses, asking to ground the suspected pilots and allowing the pilots with original licenses to continue flight operations.

According to the Aviation Ministry’s lists, on average, one-third of PIA, Serene Air and Air Blue pilots have suspicious licenses.
