Governor Sindh angered over unannounced load shedding in Karachi
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Chief Executive of K-Electric Monis Abdullah called on Sindh Governor Imran Ismail. During the meeting, Governor Sindh expressed disdain over the unannounced load shedding in the city.
According to the spokesman of Governor Sindh, Imran Ismail said that unannounced load shedding in the height of summer season is an injustice to the citizens of Karachi.
The governor said that the federal government was providing additional gas to K-Electric, however, the emergence of such a situation is a cause for concern.
The Governor said that K-Electric would be provided additional furnace oil from HUBCO. He also said that the federal government was bound to provide 650 MW power to K-Electric, however, it is ready to provide an additional 500 MW for the convenience of citizens.
On this occasion, the Chief Executive of K-Electric informed the Governor that two power plants were closed due to shortage of furnace oil but the additional furnace oil from the federation would help in overcoming the power crisis.
The spokesman said that CEO K-Electric had assured an improvement in the city’s electricity situation within 24 hours.
