Pakistan registers 242 percent increase in COVID-19 deaths in one month: Asad Umar

Asad Umar said that total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 in Pakistan reached 2,649 on June 14.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Planning Minister Asad Umar on Sunday said that Pakistan registered 242 percent increase in deaths from coronavirus from May 14, 2020 to June 14, 2020, Dunya News reported.

Usad Umar wrote on social networking site Twitter that total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 on May 14 in Pakistan were 770 as compared to India’s tally of 2,649 deaths on the same date.

He said that the death toll from coronavirus reached 2,649 on June 14 whereas in India, the death toll surged to 9,485. He said Pakistan witnessed 242 percent increase in COVID-19 deaths in one month and India registered 258 percent increase in fatalities in the same period.

“There is much we are still learning about COVID-19 spread and mortality”, Asad Umar concluded.  

Total cumulative deaths due to covid on 14th may : Pakistan 770, India 2,649. Cumulative covid deaths on 14th June : Pakistan 2632, India 9,485. Increase in deaths last month : Pakistan 242% India 258%. There is much we are still learning about covid spread and mortality.
