Rehman Malik sends defamation notice to Cynthia Ritchie over rape allegations

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Senator Rehman Malik has sent a defamation notice of Rs 500 million to Cynthia Ritchie against her rape allegations.

The notice sent by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader said that I strongly deny the false allegations leveled against me by an American woman Cynthia Ritchie.

Rehman Malik has said that this fight is a fight in honor of Martyred Benazir Bhutto. She is not only my leader but the leader of the whole nation and the elements behind her character assassination will be exposed at the right time, he added.

He said that I have been constantly receiving imprisonment and death threats. I never came under any pressure and I will never be pressurized.

Senator Rehman Malik said that my conscience and my past are clear. When nothing was found against me, the enemy made the most baseless accusations. I have no personal quarrel with Cynthia Ritchie and she is a citizen of a friendly country.

"Time will tell what role I played in improving Pakistan s image," he said. The American woman tarnished my image by making fabricated accusations.
