People need to ensure compliance of SOPs to counter coronavirus pandemic: Zafar Mirza
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr. Zafar Mirza has emphasized the need for behavioral change through ensuring compliance of SOPs to counter coronavirus pandemic.
Talking to media in Islamabad today [Saturday], SAPM said government is adhering to policy of tracing, testing, quarantine and selected lockdowns to overcome COVID-19 outbreak.
Special Assistant said we are fully focused on building healthcare capacity. He said government is committed to protection and support of frontline healthcare workers and several steps have been taken in this regard.
Dr Mirza said that only 25 percent beds with ventilators are being used at hospitals to support corona patients while sufficient quantity is available for incoming patients and there is no any shortage of bed, ventilator or any other facility for Covid-19 patients.
He said lockdown for a longer period of time with regard to the coronavirus is not solution anywhere.
