Challans to be issued for driving without mask in Lahore
LAHORE (Dunya News) – In a bid to curb non-compliance with coronavirus SOPs, Lahore police have made the decision to issue challan tickets to motorcyclists, car drivers and passengers for driving without a mask.
Chief Traffic Police Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Hamad Abid said that challans will be issued to those who do not wear a mask while driving a motorcycle and car. Eight joint teams have been formed to insure implementation on the SOPs.
CTO Lahore said that joint teams will take action against violators of Coronavirus SOPs in different areas. Apart from eight special teams, all wardens across the city will also help implement Coronavirus SOPs.
Syed Hamad Abid said that in case of more than one occupant in the car, it would be mandatory for everyone to wear a mask and Coronavirus SOPs will be strictly enforced. In view of the outbreak, the traffic police will strictly enforce government guidelines. Citizens should wear masks while driving and riding motorcycles to protect themselves and others, he added.
