Sindh govt decides to ease lockdown from Monday

The chief minister said there will be a complete lockdown on Saturdays and Sundays.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Friday said that the province will ease the lockdown from Monday after federal government’s decision to end the countrywide lockdown in phases starting Saturday.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi on Friday, he said that decisions needed to be taken after considering facts and data, adding that 99% of the decisions of the federation have been implemented.
The chief minister said that despite differences, we are working together, adding that the coronavirus cases would spike by opening the lockdown. He said that the prime minister gave authority to the provinces to decide on the lockdown situation and make changes keeping in view the current situation.
Murad Ali Shah urged the people to stay at home to avoid coronavirus and the people with diabetes and heart disease should try not to leave their homes.
The chief minister said there will be a complete lockdown on Saturdays and Sundays. He said shopping malls, restaurants, mega stores, cinemas and large markets will remain closed while small markets and shops will open. “All businesses that were shut prior to May 9 will continue to remain closed from Monday.”
“Industries related to the constructions sector will operate as per the SOPs,” he said.
The Sindh CM went on to say that shops will remain open from Fajr till 5pm and selected outpatient departments (OPDs) in hospitals will also open. The provincial government has already allowed 660 factories to resume operations on the Centre’s instruction, he said.
