Murad Ali Shah orders to further tighten lockdown in Sindh
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has ordered to further tighten the coronavirus lockdown in the province, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.
Murad Ali Shah expressed concern over increasing cases of the pandemic in Sindh while addressing a press conference and said pillion riding is not allowed along with three to four children on motorbikes.
“The government is not allowing to open the automobile industry. Construction sector and other departments will be opened as per the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
“The builders will provide all labor and construction details and seek permission from the authorities before starting their work. Action will be taken against the violators.
“Further steps are needed to be taken to counter the epidemic and it would be wrong if we claim that situation in Pakistan is better than other countries. The virus in Pakistan is as dangerous as in other countries.
“Matters with religious scholars will be settled through mutual understanding. The provincial government has received testing kits and safety equipment and everything will be done according to the law.
“The Sindh government has forwarded a four-page reply to the federation’s SOPs. Some provinces were of the opinion to let barbers, plumbers, tailors and other shopkeepers work whereas the Sindh government opposed the idea.
“Domestic flight operation can be kept suspended for two more weeks. Public transport will remain shut in all provinces. All provincial regimes agreed to extend the lockdown.
“I congratulate Prime Minister Imran Khan as all stakeholders agreed upon the SOPs. The premier told that construction sector is most important after agriculture.
“Industries will provide transport to the employees and company names will be written on buses in which only ten percent passengers will be allowed to travel.”
