PM Imran, Turkish president agree to work together in fight against COVID-19

PM Imran Khan prayed for the earliest recovery and good health of British PM Boris Johnson

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday contacted Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and emphasized the need to fight against the outbreak of novel coronavirus pandemic across the globe.

During his telephonic conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the prime minister offered condolences to the people and the government of Turkey over the loss of precious human lives as a result of COVID-19.

Imran Khan reaffirmed Pakistan s abiding support and solidarity with Turkey, including Ankara s efforts to combat the pandemic.

The Prime Minister also conveyed thanks for facilitation of stranded Pakistanis by Turkish authorities in the aftermath of discontinuation of flight operations.

Pakistan and Turkey have agreed to work together and reinforce each other s efforts in the fight against COVID-19, during a telephonic conversation.

On the other hand, in his letter to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, PM Imran Khan has conveyed best wishes and prayers for the earliest recovery and good health of Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Imran Khan underscored the importance of Pakistan and UK working together to overcome the formidable challenges posed by COVID-19 and building a safer world.
