Islamabad police arrest 424 persons for violating Section 144
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad police have arrested 424 persons and lodged 121 cases over violation of Section 144, Dunya News reported on Saturday.
Dozens of violators have been sent to jail on judicial remand. The police have also detained those who were overpricing items due to the coronavirus lockdown.
It is pertinent here to mention that Pakistan has reported 40 deaths from novel coronavirus while the total number of cases in the country has surged to 2,708.
1,072 patients have been tested positive for the epidemic in Punjab, 839 in Sindh, 343 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 193 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 175 in Balochistan, 75 in Islamabad and 11 in Azad Kashmir.
So far, 130 patients have recovered in the country while 10 are in critical condition.
