ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Sunday has said that complete lockdown in the country due to the coronavirus will badly affect the livelihood of poverty-stricken people.

While addressing the nation regarding the situation caused by the virus, the premier said that we donot have enough resources to provide free food to the people at their homes.

“First let me tell you what a lockdown is. It means we shut down the entire country. Lock people in their houses, ” he said.

He urged the masses to stay at their homes and adopt precautionary measures to curb the outbreak of coronavirus. “Take responsibility. If you have symptoms, self-quarantine yourself,” he emphasized. The PM told that hospitals are having special places for those suffering from respiratory problems. We need to take special care of elderly people as they are vulnerable to the virus,he advised.

He further hoped that Pakistan will soon contain coronavirus just like China. Panic and chaos would cause more damage than the virus, he added.
