Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistan must move towards a lockdown.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – As number of coronavirus cases multiply in the country, leadership of two major political parties, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have termed lockdown as only option to fight coronavirus.
Chairman of PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistan must move towards a lockdown and any delay is going to make dealing with the pandemic more difficult.
He further said “No province can handle this alone. We need the full force of the federal government to facilitate a lockdown, increase tests and assistance for those in need.”
Bilawal also warned that at current rate Pakistan’s health system will be overwhelmed. He also advised people to stay at home until the government makes up its mind.
Pakistan must move towards a lockdown. Every hour, every day that we delay is going to make dealing with the pandemic more difficult. We’re already late, should’ve done it earlier, need decisive action ASAP to mitigate this crisis now. 1/3
