Nida Yasir holds makeup competition despite social distancing directive

The government has advised people to avoid gatherings in order to not contract the coronavirus

KARACHI (Web Desk) - TV Host Nida Yasir is in the news again and not for the right reasons as she hosted a  Beauty competition  in the middle of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic..

Nida hosted a beauty competition in her morning show "Good Morning Pakistan" that aired on March 16. At a time when social distancing is being stressed upon with most public gatherings being called off and the government prohibiting mass gatherings, holding a  Beauty competition  with multiple contestants sharing the stage with no precautionary measures in sight and no prior screening of the contestants can only be called socially irresponsible at best.

Cases of coronavirus have been leap-frogging in the country, especially in Sindh, which happens to be where the show was recorded although the contestants had arrived from all over Pakistan. This was a blatant disregard of the repeated calls to citizens by provincial and federal governments to exercise civic responsibility towards other citizens.
