PM Imran Khan did not contact Sindh government over coronavirus issue: Murtaza Wahab.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab has on Wednesday complained that Prime Minister Imran Khan did not contact the provincial regime over the coronavirus issue.

While addressing a news conference, Murtaza Wahab said the premier should have monitored the proceedings himself but the federal government is active only on Twitter and no practical steps have been taken.

“2300 persons entered Sindh from Iran, 188 tests have been conducted and 14 persons have been tested positive for coronavirus. 14 suspected patients were immediately shifted to hospital and one individual has completely recovered.

“The affected 14 persons arrived in Pakistan from abroad as the virus had not transmitted from within the country. The Sindh government is taking steps to control the disease. No decision has yet been taken to extend school holidays.

“A meeting of task force is held daily at the Chief Minister House. The sufferers are kept in isolation wards. The federal government should improve monitoring system at airports. It is the duty of the federal government to quarantine patients.”
