Production team blunder costs Gladiators dearly in PSL match against Zalmi

Media team aired stump-cam replay which was from another delivery bowled by Wahab Riaz.
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – A blunder by production team cost Quetta Gladiators dearly as all-rounder Ben Cutting was given out against Peshawar Zalmi on what had looked like a no-ball bowled by Wahab Riaz in the 18th match of the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
According to details, Quetta Gladiators were chasing a stiff target of 171 runs in 15 overs set up by Peshawar Zalmi while batting first. Quetta Gladiators Ben Cutting was caught by Liam Livingstone in the 12th over bowled by Wahab Riaz. On field umpire called on third umpire to check the no-ball but the media team aired stump-cam replay which was from another delivery bowled by Wahab Riaz in that over.
The media team aired replays from side camera and stump camera but interestingly the replays were of two different deliveries. The stump vision camera, on the basis of which he was given out, shows Ben Cutting himself standing on the non-striker end. Cutting could not have been at the non-striker s end as he was the one who had played the shot.
In a previous match between Karachi King and Quetta Gladiators the ultra edge feature had not worked and earned Babar Azam an unfair reprieve when he was caught by wicket keeper on a delivery bowled by Naseem Shah.
On the other hand, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) admitted the mistake, saying that while the aired stump-cam replay was indeed from another delivery, it was not considered by the third umpire.
The PCB further said that it was an unintentional error and the third umpire gave Cutting out on the basis of evidence gathered from the side cam and not the stump cam.
The board further said that the production company had already regretted the mistake and tendered an apology.
