LONDON (Reuters) - A new colourful installation "Slices of Time" is set to go on display in London on Wednesday (February 5).
The piece, created by French-born, Tokyo-based Architect Emmanuelle Moureaux, is made up of 168,000 coloured numbers separated in to 100 distinct layers dangling from fishing wire.
Moureaux says the round shape represents the earth and the 100 colours represent the relationship between the past, present and future.
"Slices of Time" was inspired by the NOW Gallery’s namesake and its close location to the Meridian in Greenwich (from where time is measured around the world).
This is one of a group of pieces by the architect in her "100 colours" series, which has seen similar exhibitions held worldwide.
Visitors are encouraged to write a special date in coloured pen on a round piece of paper, whether it be in the past or future, that will be displayed in the gallery alongside the installation.
The exhibition is on display at Greenwich Peninsula’s NOW Gallery from February 5 - April 19, 2020.
