Victims of the incident were not paid Rs560 million despite announcements

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Primary suspects in Baldia Factory fire case Abdul Rehman and Zubair changed their earlier statements. More than 250 people were burnt to death in the fire.

According to details, Abdul Rehman and Zubair changed their statements during hearing of the case in Anti terrorism court (ATC).

Answering to a questionnaire consisting of 380 questions, Abdul Rehman admitted that he was in charge of the MQM Baldia sector at the time of the tragedy but was not involved in setting the fire. On the other hand Zubair claimed that he doesn’t know if someone set the fire or not.

Meanwhile, court heard a petition which claimed that families of victims were not paid Rs560 million despite announcements and the pension paid to the survivors has also been discontinued. The court sought response from Secretary EOBI and adjourned the hearing till February 19.
