Ensuring shelters to homeless people reflects PM's feeling for them: Dr Firdous
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Monday has claimed that those calling Amendment Ordinance 2019 as ‘mother of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO)’ have also got benefits from the anti-graft watchdog. Talking to media after inaugurating a photographic exhibition in connection with birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the special assistant said that the opposition parties have not read the ordinance carefully. Corrupt elements have not been given any relief in NAB ordinance, however, the honest leaders have been given relaxation, she added.
Earlier today, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the state is fulfilling its responsibility by providing shelter and food to the needy people. In a series of tweets, the special assistant said that provision of shelter to the homeless people suffering from severe cold reflects Prime Minister Imran Khan’s feelings for the poor. She said foundation of New Pakistan has been laid on feelings. She said welfare of humanity is the mission of Imran Khan’s life.
Dr Firodus said the premier has continuously been taking measures for betterment of the downtrodden segment of the society. The reaction came after PM Imran had asked chief ministers of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to ensure temporary shelters to the homeless locals in a wake of severe cold weather. The provincial administrations must take immediate action to provide temporary shelters and food for those who cannot be accommodated in existing Panagahs, he added.
