Motorway Police to impose new fines from Jan 1

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Motorway Police spokesperson on Wednesday said that new fines on National Highways (NH) will be imposed from January 1, 2020 while awareness campaign regarding new rules is underway.

According to Motorway Police spokesperson Imran Ahmed, Rs10,000 will be fined to over speeding busses, Rs2500 to over speeding cars, Rs5000 for overloading in public service vehicles (PSV), Rs1000 for riding a motorcycle without helmet, Rs5000 to cars, LTVs and motorcycles for driving unlicensed.

He further added that PSVs will be fined Rs10,000 for driving without a valid license and Rs500 will be fined to motorcycles and Rs2000 to cars for using mobile while driving.

Cars and LTVs will be fined Rs1500 for violating rules regarding safety belts, and Rs1000 for lane violation. He further added that passengers can ensure safe travel by following the rules and avoid fines.
