Chunian rape, murder case: Culprit sentenced to death for abusing 4 minor boys

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday found Sohail Shahzada guilty of raping and murdering four minor boys in Chunian, and sentenced him to life imprisonment and death on three counts.
ATC judge Muhamamd Iqbal presided over the case in Kot Lakhpat jail owing to security reasons. Three member team under supervision of deputy prosecutor general Abdul Rauf gave closing arguments.
The ATC recorded statement of 23 witnesses and the accused under section 342. The court sentenced the perpetrator to death on three counts whereas he was also convicted with life imprisonment.
Earlier Shahzad was arrested by police on October 1 in a case pertaining to the rape and murder of four children in Chunian. Four children aged between eight and 12 years went missing in June this year with the latest, eight-year-old Faizan, disappearing on the night of September 16.
As per the postmortem examination reports, all the victims were sexually assaulted before being killed.
