National team reach Pakistan after suffering tour whitewash in Australia.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The national cricket team have reached Pakistan after suffering a tour whitewash in Australia against the hosts, Dunya News reported on Friday.

Test captain Azhar Ali, head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis arrived at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport.

Misbah-ul-Haq is scheduled to address a press conference at the Gaddafi Stadium today. The head coach will apprise of the reasons behind Pakistan’s poor performance down under and preparations for upcoming Sri Lanka Tests.

Let it be known that Pakistan were unable to register a single win against Australia in the Twenty20 International (T20I) and Test series. The Aussies had brushed aside the Green Shirts 2-0 in the three-match T20I series. One game was washed out by rain.

Pakistan lost both Test matches following the T20I defeat by an innings as the visitors failed in every department against the Kangaroos.

It is pertinent here to mention that Pakistan will host Sri Lanka for two-match Test series – a part of World Test Championship. The historic series will commence from December 11 in Rawalpindi as Test cricket returns to Pakistan after a hiatus of ten years.
