CM Buzdar approves establishment of Jinnah Institute of Cardiology

A 200-bed Jinnah Institute of Cardiology will be established in the medical tower of the Hospital.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday approved the establishment of Jinnah Institute of Cardiology at Jinnah Hospital in the provincial capital to ensure provision of medical facilities to the patients.

In a statement issued by the Punjab chief minister, provision of medical facilities to the patients will be ensured and the welfare of general public is the priority of the provincial government.

Initially, a 200-bed Jinnah Institute of Cardiology will be established in the medical tower of the Hospital, which would later be extended to 500-bed.

Usman Buzdar was given detailed briefing on the project during a meeting presided over him in Lahore.

On the other hand, a 12-member committee headed by Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat has been constituted after the chief minister took notice of increasing criminal activities in Rajanpur and Rahim Yar Khan. The committee will present proposals regarding situation of crime in Kachay area and allotment of land on to local farmers and labourers.

The Punjab CM also announced an impartial investigation of police shootout in Kot Mubarak of Dera Ghazi Khan area. According to Punjab government spokesperson, facts would be brought forward through impartial investigation, while concerned DSPs and SHOs have been suspended.
