KARACHI (Dunya News) – The decision to remove Sarfraz Ahmed from Test captaincy and dropping him from the playing eleven has been taken during Australian tour, Dunya News reported.
As per the details, following the poor performance of the Pakistan team, Chief Selector and Head Coach Misbah-ul-Haq reviewed the performance team during ongoing T20 tournament in Faisalabad and discussed strategy for the selection of team for Australia tour.
The green shorts will leave for Sydney on October 27. Pakistan will play three Twenty20 matches and two Tests in Australia in November.
Sources said that the selection committee headed by chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq have started consultation for selection of players. The PCB officials have agreed to replace Sarfraz Ahmed and bring a new captain for Test series against Australia.
Sources further said that planning was being made to groom Muhammad Rizwan, who scored two centuries against Australia in Abu Dhabi, as vice-captain.
