Performance report of provinces in 'Pakistan Citizen Portal' released

Sindh government showed the worst performance in resolving citizen complaints.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Performance report of all the provinces were released today (Oct 2) which shows that top governing bodies, federal ministries and agencies have resolved more than 591,530 ‘Citizen Portal’ complaints.

As per the details, the Prime Minister’s Office has released the statistics of the report which were presented in the cabinet. 92% of complaints were resolved by federal agencies.

Sindh government showed the worst performance in resolving citizen complaints. Sindh provincial departments have so far managed to resolve only 40% of the complaints.

According to the report, 84% of the 37,000 pending complaints are from the Sindh government only. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government resolved 87 per cent, Punjab resolved 88 per cent, Balochistan resolved 79 per cent and Gilgit-Baltistan government resolved 74 per cent complaints.

Citizens’ complaints were processed against several government officials. The Director-General Capital Development Authority (DG CDA) was suspended over a citizen complaint at Citizen Portal. Show causes were issued to two deputy commissioners, including suspension of senior police officers in Punjab.

Three deputy commissioners and three assistant commissioners of Punjab were also suspended. Show cause notices were issued to three assistant commissioners as well.

Police officers were prosecuted in connection with the rape of a girl. The report says that the girl, who was trapped in Saudi Arabia after her company went bankrupt, was repatriated.

Earlier, On the directives of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, a separate category has been included in the Citizen’s Portal application to register complaints against Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

According to details, this new feature will allow the people to lodge their complaints directly to the concerned authorities.

It is to be mentioned here that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Syed Shabbar Zaidi had given a briefing in this regard and tendered the request for an exclusive category in the app.
