LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Hockey team beat Oman by7-0 in first match of the hockey series being played here.

The home side rode on a hat-trick by Rana Abdul Waheed imposed a wide margin win to the Oman team which is on a preparatory tour of Pakistan ahead of their participation in the Asia Confederation hockey cup in Bangladesh being played from October 14.
Pakistan side dominated the play against a low ranking side of the Asia being trained by former Pakistan captain and Olympian, Tahir Zaman.
The hockey series is part of preparations for Olympics. Oman hockey team includes all senior players while team Pakistan is a combination of senior and junior players.
First three matches of the series would be played in Lahore while fourth would be played in Sheikhupura.
Earlier, a 33-member Oman hockey contingent arrived in Pakistan to play a four test match series against national development and rising squads.
The visiting team was received here at the airport by the President of Punjab Hockey Association (PHA) Lt Col Asif Khokhar and other officials of the PHA and Pakistan Hockey Federation.
The Oman team is on a preparatory cum training tour of Pakistan to give final touches to their preparations for the Asia Confederation hockey cup being played in Dhaka, Bangladesh from October 14 which is the qualifying round of the Asian hockey cup.
