FM Qureshi urges US to play role in saving Kashmiris from Indian oppression

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – US Democrat Congressmen Jim Himes and Patrick Maloney on Tuesday met Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and discussed Pak-US relations, situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir and other matters of bilateral interests.
The foreign minister while welcoming members of the US Congress on their visit to Pakistan said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relation with the US, adding that the two countries have jointly tackled the challenges facing the region, including terrorism.
Qureshi went on to say that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has introduced new visa policy to facilitate tourists and businessmen, adding that Naya Pakistan has excellent opportunities for foreign investment and tourism.
“The meeting between US President Donald Trump and PM Imran Khan was very fruitful,” he said.
The foreign minister further said Indian illegal actions have put the region at serious risk, adding that life continues to remain uncertain in India-occupied Kashmir and parts of Jammu region on the 58nd consecutive day.
He urged the US side to play role in saving the eight million innocent Kashmiris from Indian oppression.
“Pakistan under the collective responsibility has been playing a constructive role in establishment of peace in the region,” he said and added PM Imran Khan has emphasized on US to resume dialogue process with Taliban because talks are the only way for sustainable peace.
They also discussed Pak-US relations, situation in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and matters of mutual interest.
