CARACAS (Reuters) - A sight for sore eyes in chaotic Caracas. The unlikely duo of a cyclist and his rescued macaw Picasso are delighting locals in the Venezuelan capital and adding a splash of colour to the metropolis.
Eduardo Albornoz does the rounds of Caracas’ hills on his bike with Picasso along for the ride on his shoulder. And the pair are inseparable.
Albornoz adopted Picasso some three years ago after a family who had rescued the macaw were no longer able to look after him amidst the country’s economic malaise.
Picasso’s left wing is broken and he can no longer fly. But riding on the bike with Eduardo, the macaw can once again feel the air under his wings.
