Dengue epidemic affects thousands across country.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The outbreak of dengue epidemic has affected thousands of people across the country and 17 patients have died so far of the disease, Dunya News reported on Saturday.

Hundreds of sufferers are arriving at hospitals daily owing to poor arrangements for prevention of dengue fever. It has been learnt that anti-dengue spray has not been sprinkled yet in Karachi.

The number of dengue patients in Rawalpindi has surged to over 2000. 1400 cases have been reported in Peshawar, 66 in Karachi, 55 in Lahore, 47 in Faisalabad and 22 in Multan.

Dengue virus has also spread in Gujranwala, Sialkot, Jhang and other cities. 110 persons have been tested positive for dengue fever in Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Mirpur and other parts of Azad Kashmir.
