Chunian Incident: CM Buzdar announces Rs5m reward for information

Buzdar said the case will be investigated on merit and no negligence will be tolerated.
CHUNIAN (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdaron Friday announced Rs5 million cash reward for the one who would any person providing information in solving the case of abuse and murder of children in Chunian.
The Punjab chief minister reached Chunian and met the families of minor victims who were killed after abuse. He was also briefed on the incident by the top officials.
Later, talking to media, Buzdar said that he visited Chunian to express his condolences, adding that action is being taken against those involved in the incident and they will be brought to justice.
The Punjab CM said that he was abroad and had been in contact with the officers since he knew about the incident. “All responsible officers have been suspended. The case will be tried in a special court,” he said.
He said that he had announced to establish a child protection bureau in Kasur. “The case will be investigated on merit and no negligence will be tolerated,” he said.
CM Buzdar went on to say that he had given special instructions to IGP Punjab Arif Nawaz. “We have formed the best joint investigation team to trace the case,” he said.
The chief minister said that the forensic agency is conducting the DNA test. “The Punjab government will provide all resources to trace the accused,” he declared.
Earlier, Usman Buzdar held a meeting with high officials on the brutal murder of three boys in Kasur’s Chunian at the Lahore airport after reaching Pakistan from Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, the CM expressed anger over police’s incompetence after he was presented with a report on the case. He was also briefed by officials on the progress of case.
