Dolphin Force Faisalabad is also salaried many times higher than Punjab Police.

FAISLABAD (Dunya News) – Dolphin Force completed two years of its service in Faisalabad today (Sept. 17) and reports showed increase in street crime rate which raised question on their performance.

The Dolphin Force, comprising 200 Turkish-trained personnel, was launched two years ago to control street crime and for arrest of criminal elements in Faisalabad. Despite, being equipped with hundreds of 500cc heavy bikes, bulletproof helmets and uniforms along with Beretta semi-automatic pistols, crime rate was not reduced. Dolphin Force Faisalabad is also salaried many times higher than Punjab Police but performance was shown much lower than them.

According to the police data, the robbery and racketeering cases were 33,227 in 2017 when Dolphin Force was launched in the city. In 2018, 34,060 cases were recorded, while in 2019, 25,670 cases have been recorded so far which has robbed citizens of more than Rs900 millions.

In such a world, it would be unwise to spend billions of rupees on a Dolphin Force, while police officials claim that the force is useful to the citizens. Citizens also expressed that if the force is failing to control the street crime then it should be shut down so as to prevent the loss to budget.
