The model court of Multan sanctioned the non-bailable warrant on failure to appear for testimony.
MULTAN (Dunya News) – Non-bailable arrest warrant has been issued against DSP Attiya Naheed Jafri for not appearing as a witness in Qandeel Baloch murder case.
According to Dunya News, the model court of Multan sanctioned the non-bailable warrant on failing to appear for testimony.
Model court Multan repeatedly sent notices to the Naheed Jafri, despite which she did not appear before the court. The court has ordered to arrest the DSP Jafri and present her before the court by September 17.
On Aug 22, A model court in Multan dismissed the petition of the parents of social media star Qandeel Baloch – who was allegedly murdered by her brothers – seeking pardon for their sons.
The court adjourned the case till August 24 for further testimonies from eyewitnesses. Qandeel Baloch’s parents had earlier submitted an affidavit in the court stating that they had forgiven her alleged murderers and requested the court to acquit their sons.
The affidavit stated that the Anti-Honour Killing Laws (Criminal Amendment Bill) 2015 was passed months after Qandeel’s murder; therefore, the bill cannot be applied to the case.
Let it be known that the Qandeel Baloch was allegedly strangled to death by her brother – Muhammad Waseem – for honor on July 15, 2016 in Muzzafarabad. The murder case was filed against Waseem and his accomplices on the complain of the victim’s father, Muhammad Azeem.
The police had also included Qandeel’s other brothers Muhammad Arif and Aslam Shaheen, and high-profile Muslim cleric Mufti Abdul Qavi who had posed photos with the deceased.
