PM wants a corruption-free local government system: Farugh Naseem

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Federal Law Minister Farugh Naseem said he did not talk about making Karachi a separate administrative unit or imposing governor rule in Sindh.

He said wrong statements were attributed with him which made him villain. He said Karachi strategic committee is for betterment of Karachi and Sindh.

Minister said local government is only solution to problems of Pakistanis, adding that he would always stand with people of Sindh. He said only those people are criticizing him who do not want to see issues of Karachi resolved.

He said Mian Muhammad Somro, Fehmmida Mirza, Ali Nawaz Shah and Nusrat Sehar Abbasi were made committee members on his recommendation. He said Shakoor Shad, Attaullah and Jamal Siddiqui were made committee members on PM Imran’s instructions.

He said PM wants a corruption free local government system.

Earlier talking to Dunya News, Farogh Naseem said that his remarks regarding imposition of article-149 to solve aggravating situation in Karachi were taken out of context.

The minister said that he only suggested to impose article-149 but his statement was wrongly disseminated.

We should focus on improving the system of local governments in Karachi, he recommended.

Farogh Naseem said that no decision has yet been taken related to the Article-149 however, Sindh will not bear ‘Governor Raj’. Will move Supreme Court (SC) if stopped from doing our work, he warned.
