COLOMBO (Dunya News) – Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has denied its players no-objection certificates (NOCs) to play in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) after ten cricketers pulled out of the upcoming Pakistan tour, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.
According to details, Thisara Perera, Dimuth Karunaratne and Niroshan Dickwella had sought permission from the SLC to play in the CPL but the governing body refused to grant them NOCs stating that no player can participate in any league until the Pakistan tour is over.
Let it be known that ten Sri Lankan players – including Lasith Malinga, Dimuth Karunaratne, Thisara Perera, Angelo Mathews, Niroshan Dickwella, Kusal Perera, Dhananjaya de Silva, Akila Dananjaya, Suranga Lakmal and Dinesh Chandimal – had on Monday pulled out of the tour citing security concerns.
It is pertinent here to mention that the Islanders will play three one-day international (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches in Karachi and Lahore from September 27 to October 9.
